2056

Returning from a trip through Eastern Europe I noted that whilst the cities I encountered were beautiful they were not what defined the visit.

Rather it was the characters I met along the way, the ever-changing landscape glimpsed from the window of a moving train, the 5-hour wait at a bus stop in the rain. The sunset, the churches, the mountains, the lakes, palaces, beaches, polished cobbled streets; everything I travelled 2056 miles to see became secondary to the journey itself.
